Hello,another sunny day in White Rock and I should be out playing tennis but decided not a lot will get accomplished from my decor venu if I don't set out to accomplish the list before I enjoy the summer.This week basically with thoughts of Crescent Beach area I thought this may go over well in Cannes or along the Mediterranean Coast or even in the Country Market in St.Lucia.The design for the exterior of the building I would keep as a basic square building with large grid patterned windows facing the street and clear windows facing a beach view.Exterior colours from Benjamin Moore in Timothy Straw with trim in Bristol Bloue.A 36 inch high brick work wall around the bottom in Cortes with a slanted ledge in Bristol Blue 2X10 WIDTH.Roofing in shakes or grey ashfalt.Interior colours -almond bisque with a swirl of blue heron with a light captain of the sea scene or scroll work on walls or just use the blue heron colour for more of a modern retro ambiance.Use this also for accents on padded valances or chair fabric with a gold netted pattern in metalic on blue texture.Flooring done in golden sky tile from Armstrong flooring with gold grid work , hardwood done in dover oakIf going with a modern sea side appeal use stainless steel or pewter tables with mosaic back chairs .Mosaic done in grid pattern 12 in width x 18 inches in length,stainless steel rails with textured fabric or seats.Mosaic top should have a gold mortar or fabric or you may try using vinyl in slats of Dover Oak for appeal.Lounge area-Use softer shades of blue heron for a newport type bench with the same fabric as chairs and cashier station.Accent with gold railing with oyster shell rings or brass rope type rings.Ceiling lights have as pot lights around the perimeter of room with central flooring area done with a lucite light bars done with rounded corners in a square design.the same rings as the cashier desk area.Have dark ceiling done in the heron blue with a crown moulding about 10 inches

Another busy day and the weather is not in our favour for a golf weekend

Dear President,Construction,Legals and Decorators;Hello,another busy day and the weather is not in our favour for a golf weekend ,so get out the home improvement list and get the jobs done for those sunny days ahead.Today I am going to continue with the Decor ideas for that first home I designed.Kitchen-exchange with living room area have wall extend from end of stairway about 3 ft..Have island in centre and cabinets from stairway wall around to corner by door,remove short windows on back top floor.Have pantry in wood and frosted glass on the end of stairway wall. Round the cabinet and corners on an angle with shelves and have fridge a 3ft.space.Range with range hood in stainless and sink on an angle in corner by window,have 4 stools at bar area,a win e rack on left side to diningroom on island.Have table in any type of wood by windows in corner,oval table or rectangle.Arm chairs at ends,straight top chairs with wood legs,cushions , placemats and napkins in a crinkle light leaf pattern,ferns would look great,as cushions on bar stools,white on cream background one loveseat in front of fireplace or two regular square arm chairs on an angle in a caramel russet leather or pleather.Set of nesting tables in square glass iron frame brown or golden.Dining room-Large round table in pecan wood or pine,Parson chairs-6 done in a swiss dot ,white or cream on Mount Saint Anne colour fabric.Solid coloured place mats and napkins in ivory pressed flower motif on it with white dinnerware with gold or green edging.Wedgewood china or dogwood pattern,Royal Albert would look great.Area rug in lilly of the valley pattern,rectangle or round,greens and whites.Silouettes or Duettes 2 and a half inch pleated blind in wall colour or white.Living room area-Sectional in corner in modern design of flowers emboossed in fabric or outline of white or ivory on watercolour fabric.Cushions in a pleated satin in watercolour.Oval table in front painted antique ivory with pewter or Mount Saint Anne .TV and entertainment stand in pine on right wall.

Interior Decorating

Dear President,Construction,Legals,and Decorators;Hello,It has been a few weeks since I last sent an e-mail of work to do.For some that was a relief,for others what is new,is always on the minds of those in the interior decorating and building business.For this week I have two projects to forward one is a Resteraunt makeover and the other is a show home or lottery home.I will begin with the resteraunt,taken from a plan book idea Jenish 33rd edition Plan #14-0-258 taken from the back of the book in the garage section and guest houses.Exterior changes.Have centre door as full windows done with black or ivory grid work bars.Round the corner mouldings with cement.Large crown moulding roofline done in scalloped ocean view idea or plain city centre.The left side have all the same windows with both,have a 3ft.brickwork with cap ledge ,extend this window for a deeper window ledge by 3-5 ft. with benches and table in interior area.Have full windows square on both sides to 2 ft. from end wall the same for front.Have right side with double glass doors in grid work to match windows.Light fixtures as pot lights in front.Hang sign of resteraunt name in signature writing in front of centre window.Layout for interior-Have desk for lobby on right wall in square post,panelled front drop counter for till,seating colour of wood to be woodplank Karndean RP73 Kenyan Tigerwood.Formica counter top in Canyon Passage 1842 -45.Have 4 posts to ceiling done in Canyon Passage with wood baseboard and crown moulding in new fawn for exterior trim,Spiced rum for interior.Hardwood floor done in wood sections double plank around the roomwith tile in diamond shape or square with the same colour grout.Have back section left for kitchen with the walk in fridge in corner ,stainless counter on left with bowls upper portion,pots and pans lower section etc.Hanging on wall grid rack .Back wall area for sinks and dishwasher ,take out the window,shelving above for storage of trays ,food items.Pantry open shelf where window area is with supplies of food.

Christmas Decor

Dear President,Legals,Decorators and Merchandisers;Hello once again sending messages of Christmas decor.I have seen some beautiful work done thank you very much.This is the last project being e-mailed on Christmas decor for next years editions for the Holidays,I hope you found it all creative and a new dimention of what you can do with imagination.The theme for this project is a Neo Classical Christmas.Lights- yellow and clear and it could also be a combination of clear and blue lights.Ornaments-Harps in gold small Santa Busts in limestone,white grecian urns,platters with fruits in pewter and gold and birds in in silver and gold.Mother of pearl balls with the grecian key design in gold,Old world Santa or star for the top of the tree.Exterior lights Outline house in yellow and clear lights and have trees in the golden yellow colour.Lawn ornaments-Have musicians with instruments done in wire frames with clear lights.Walkway have arches of yellow lights up the front entrance and on Corinthian columns have lights strung vertically.in clear lights.or yellow lights.The backyard have trees in urn pots in yellow lights and large star on the grass in front or behind .The back roof line done as the front.Interior-Entrance should be a large display of silver plate stands with glittered fruits in silver and gold and light bronzes on a glass iron table.Have a louis style chair covered in a gold satin patterned cloth.A small Christmas tree in urn from Canadian Tire with gold harps on it and a silver and gold bronze bow on the top.Curved stairway done in netted bows with bronze satin ribbon.These should be large.Have a double string of gold pearls or gold garland.Living room-Tree skirt done in white velvet with grecian key design in bronzes .The same fabric in a satin for cushion covers.The tree done with old world St.Nicholas in white on the top and ornaments of harps ,columns with bronze and gold bows,stars and the balls with the grecian key design also in bronze,if using that choice of colour.The mantle have orchestra instruments on stands in mother of pearl and gold.Alarhe ornate mirror found at the florist shop in White Rock by the Royal Bank.The harth have two grecian key design pots with gold ,bronze and silver pointsetta picks in oasis.Use large bronze bows in velvet and satin at the base of flowers.Dining room-Have festive scene in white ,silver ,bronze on flags to hang in centre of swag draperies in dining room area.If you have two windows hang either between the windows on wall or on drapeery.for a special effect.Centre piece for table have small fluted gold pots with flocked Christmas trees ,decorated with gold ,silver and bronze frosted balls.Arrange picks of ornate pointsettas or stars in them.Dinnerware should be white or the grecian key pattern in gold.Place mats in bronze brocade satin and napkins to match.Chairs should be a gold or white brocade fabric.Buffet-Have silver candleholders with gold candles .Arranged around arched doorways or columns ornate pointsetta gold picks with bronze velvet ribbon.Kitchen area-Have a rustic colour version of the gold ,silver bronze antiqued on white mugs with specialty chocolate and coffee pkgs in them in bronze ornate square basket on the island.Many choices are found at Murchies or zellers at the White Rock Mall.Have a white antiqued ,bronze cake plate stacked with apples ,mandarins and grapes.Place mats and napkins done in a tapestry Christmas scene as flags in dining room area for place mats,cloth fabric for napkins.or plain white with gold grecian key design.Have bronze bows hanging from the light fixture with harp ornament.Tree should be done in a selection of Old St.Nicholas bodices in gold velvet with a gold and bronze star on the top.Add some glittered music notes,some paper scrolls,horse drawn carts and gold ornate pointsettas.Tree skirt and toss cushions have done in the Christmas tapestry scene of gold ,silver and bronzes.The bar area have carolers in velvet bronze colors on the floor.Fireplace-Painted a pewter or bronze ,have arrangements of ornate candle holders and candles 3or 4 inches round or square.On the harth place bronzed figures of musiciansor carolers again.Have a large white pointsettain an antiqued white pot or urn on the coffee table and Christmas puzzle.At the bar have canisters of clear glass and frosted or antiqued white lids with pretzels,almonds,dry roasted peanuts and mixed nuts.Have a few small ornate 4x6 picture frames with drink specials ,Rum with orange eggnog,lmond hotchocolate with whip cream and carmel sauce,Hazlenut coffee and chocolate wafers dipped in chocolate..The regular house drinks,wine ,champagne.Bathrooms-White or gold towels withgold grecian key symbol on gold and bronze on white.Have a few gold harpists on stands on the counter with a gold ornate pointsetta arrangement.Have soaps in white soap dish as coins and a small fluted dish with wrapped mints.Have scroll work tissue holder and tapestry cloth on the lavatory with gold fringes or bronze.If its a families first baby Christmas or expecting a New Years baby have gold ,silver and bronze blocks arranged by the mugs of hot chocolate on the island.Also serve mincemeat on cream cheese on breton crackers with rum and eggnog for a tasty cheer.Merry Christmas to all readers and those who make the holidays a more about a theme for Father time.The first thought goes to a fantasy tree of Alice and Wonderland for the children,I thought of adding the grandfather clock ornament to my next projectwhich is the traditional red and green Christmas.Fabric choice which may have already been done ,we will repeat which is a red and green hounds tooth plaid with a green fringe on it.Do an overlay of green brocade on the check or plaid.Ornaments colours done in emerald green and gold ornate tops for ornaments done as hecagons to look like jewelsand red and gold done the same.Ribbons in satin with gold pekoe edges and velvets in a brocade pattern for ribbon.Exterior idea-Red lights on the house top trim would look great on an A frame entryway.Green on the trees and up the driveway .Large gift boxes as a focal point in the centre lawn done in red and clear lights with toy soldiers done in red arranged beside .Use resin fabric on frames.Front entry interior-Done in large display of red velvet bows on stairway banister and groupings of pointsettas.Have Christmas picture of toy train,some pictures from themovie the Polar Express would look great hung also with red velvet ribbons.Strings of gold pearls up the exterior of the banister swagged.The living room have the red and green hounds tooth with a brocade pattern over it for toss cushions,tree skirt,dining room placemats.Use plain green or red napkins or brocade to match.Fireplace have red large vases on each side of the fire with greenery and cranberries.Vases found at Zellers.Christmas tree done in small red and green or red and black toy soldiers.The nutcracker theme,with gold antique cars and grandfather clocks,jeweled ornaments and a red velvet bow on the top.Swirls of holly and cranberries printed on ribbon.Red velvet bows as an accent.Wrap pkg's in red and green foils with jeweled ribbon and bows.Dining room done in emerald green velvet cushions with satin trees.Centre piece a frosted mirror with frosted trees down the have cedar garland with large ivory velvet and lace bows up the stairway.The living room have toy soldiers on either side of the harth done in ivory and white velvet and fur.The mantle should be swirls of white crepe de chine ribbon with ivory velvet edging and ballerinas in frosted glass or porcelin with gold pointsetta on their necks for decor.The houndstooth check or plaid done in ivory stick ons .Add a snowflake or two in opposite corners.Family room-The same idea as the first only in ivory and white winter scene or city scene with flocking,velvet and satins.Have a gold bound Christmas book novel to read on the coffee table with frosted snowflake candle holders and ivory candles.The furniture should be tan ,gold or ivory leather or cloth.The backyard done the same with clear lights on the trees and yellow on the carriages for the enchanted garden .Spray snow around the edges of the windows and french doors.Have clear spot lights down to an ocean view.Have a set of ivory and gold cannisters on the kitchen counter or in white and gold for carmel corn,shortbread,chocolate sticks and mixed nuts.Kichen decor idea the same only in ivory and white with gold for option2 from option 1.You could also add a few wire swans in clear lights by the water.These are ideas that could be seen one day in house beautiful ,Elegant homes or Traditional style.I hope this Dear President,Legals and Decorators;Well November is certain;ly starting out with the right concept.The stores have Christmas arranged throughout and all we need is the Christmas music and its ready for another busy season of gifts and food.For my next project I thought of combining traditional colours with seaside flare perhaps.Pastel colours of watermelon pink and aqua or light sea green combined with champagne glasses and pearls and snowflakes on a wine coloured background for fabric..Tree could be accented in the same colour idea.Glassware done in wine colours with gold edging and bows.Dark wine dinnerware with a floral spray in pink aqua and white pearls with gold branches and ribbons.This would be best on a heavy ironstone plate,with casserole dishes to match .These would be sold at Bowrings or the Bay.House decor idea #5 -Exterior lights done in green and clear bulbs .Trees done in green with the lights strung vertically from top to bottom.One tree on each side of the house.On the front lawn have a caroler in a top hat iand tails in clear lights and a few dancing angels also in clear lights.Have a garland for balcony and wooden stairway done in pastel foil crinkle bows with gold twigs .Have a wreath on the front door or a bunch of gold glittered twigs wound with large crinkle bow in aqua or light sea green.This would look great on an ivory or white coloured home.Entry table have minature carriages in wood or crystal glass under an English painting or Christmas scene painting.Toss cushions in the living room done in satins of wine ,pinks and aquas or light green edged with gold cording.Pearled with beads would look best.This should be a Christmas floral pattern or fabric mentioned at the begining.Have a 6-8ft.tree depending on the hight of ceiling.Trim with ivory pearls or flat mother of pearl garland with sculptured edges and gold pearls in between.Ornaments could be porcelein angels in frosted white and glass droplets in pastel colours found at the Bay Guildford.Enhance this with a tree skirt in a solid colour to match or wine coloured satin,with little houses all over it in pastel and gold ribbon and gold braid.Add some snowflakes on this fabric.Have a dancing angel on the top of the tree ,you may also want to add some fellows in white tuxes to be arranged among the dancing angels and ornaments.Dining room area-Have ivory tux or white placemats.These would have the pleats on the sides and the ivory or white swirl jaquard in the centre.Napkins to match.No collar or buttons on these placemats.Ivory or white place cards with Noel written on the back or just gold ribbon.Have silver or brass candle holders on the buffet with the fabric mentiones at the beginningwith a gold fringe or braid.Have wine coloured satin bowson candle holders.Decorative gold and silver plates found at Bowrings for arrangement of delicious apples and cinnamon sticks tied with wine satin ribbon and gold piled liked Christmas trees on each side of the candle holder on the buffet.Have Christmas dinner drink menu printed with choice of desert for formal dinners on small ivory or white cards.There should be only one dinner menu for the main course and that is Turkey ,no menus needed.Kitchen area -Have a wooden dancing angel and caroler with tux on the island or counter made out of either wood or cornstraw.White with ribbon in pastels.Have a wire basket in gold with fruit and Peek Frean cookie pkgs.or other well known brand name .Tie with a wine or light aqua ribbon.Have large Christmas cookie cutters on the counter tied with satin bows.in wine.Bathrooms-also have the dancing angel and caroler with a tux done in satins with ivory or white porcelein soap dish with individual soaps with gold Christmas logo or sticker.You could also take a Body Shop bar wrap in foil ribbon and add a sticker for decorative appeal.Pin or sew satin ribbons to the towels hanging in pastel or wine coloured and gold or a printed satin ribbon,to match the fabric mentioned.Afew champange glasses with with coloured bath beads,and a white and gold pointsetta on the counter or toilet tank or small glass table.Have white or ivory velour bath mat and towels.Bedrooms have ggold snowflakes hanging from the door knobs as well as on any french doors.Back yard -Have a pond effect done in lights of clear and pinks,greens and blues or greens and blues on wire picks in the grass area with wire trees in green and carriages in blues and greens.Make wire frame to look like waterfall and rocks with walkway lights from the back porch or french doors if there are any.Serve a crockpot of apple cider with cinnamon sticks found at Safeway called Lynches and candied cranberries and chocolate gingerbread men while you listen to carols and Dear President,Legals and Decorators;Hello,another day in the life of what do we edit next in our magazines of wishes and dreams and house beautiful.That gave me the idea to decorate where the largest amount of people would enjoy seeing it.That would be a great idea for the next issue,with ideas to take home.The place I chose first was the Fairmont Chateau Whistler for its Winter Wonderland climate.The second was the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel.I have not seen the inside in years ,so I am decorating with a thought of what would look beautiful and the colour scheme may have to vary with what it is decorated as.Colour choice-Purple and Ivory or Royal Blue.Lobby area-Festive wreaths done in evergreens,sprayed with frosted mauve and have dark purple satin ribbon or velvet on them.Accent with gold Duncan Fife symbols .Have about six of them hanging in the Lobby area.A large Christmas tree decorated with purple metallic balls,frosted mauve violins and large ivory metallic balls with frosted ivory or mother of pearl angels.On the top have an ivory satin Angel.Clear Christmas lights or light mauve if you can find them.Tree skirt done in an arrangement of musical instruments on a dark purple background with ivory pointsettas and a dark purple or ivoryfringe.Have ivory/white pointsettas on desk in dark purple foil or ceramic ivory square pots with a garland scupted on them.Add a little gold antiqueing to the pots.Have toss cushions made up to match the tree skirt for the lounge chairs in the Lobby area as well.Stationary-Done as a ribbon accross the bottom of the page with the same decor as the as the toss cushions or embossed dark purple with gold ribbon trim in a metallic.A gold ribbon metallic bow on the top on ivory or white stationary and pens in ivory or white.You may want to sell some of these sets in the shops.The dining room area-Have pleated moire purple placemats.The pleat done as the exterior ruffle.Napkins to match.Dinnerware white or ivory with silverware.Centre pieces-have done as frosted candle holders with the mauve frosted violins on them and angels etched in glass or embossed with glitter and laquered.These should be circular.Have decorative flag tapestry hangings of the same fabric with ivory fringe or gold on brass rods with a large purple 8 ribbon bow on them in satin or velvet.One on every post or two on each wall.Christmas menu-Have embossed dark purple with gold ribbon in centre page.this would be on white or ivory paper,fine Caligraphy in gold writing.Have large ivory/white pointsettas at the doorway on iron table stand or a wooden column stand.Add some purple satin or velvet ribbons to these.The rooms -have the same flags on exterior door hooks or on posts or walls down the hallway.Also add some pointsettas on stands at the ends of the hallway.Rooms-Keep simple ,some festive stationary and perhaps a Christmas morning basket of Flavoured coffees,cookies,chocolates ,teas and nuts.Tie some ribbons on the roosters of the table lamps or attach a rooster pointsetta in ceramic or pewter,these would be ivory if done in ceramic .Add some rectangular toss cushions to match the tapestry decor on chairs or beds,that you can change to a valentines theme in February which would be a tapestry effect of Cupids with hearts and flowerson on a mauve background.The same for the dinig area,for ambiance.This is my suggestion,as I stated you may want to change the colour scheme to coordinate with the hotel.The washroom area-keep simple by having foil purple bows in the corners of the mirror,decrative hand towels done in paper as the tapestry idea.6 inch by 12 inch.Have a cinnamon almond hand cream.The exterior of the building with the teal roof limits the lighting to clear glass or green on the trees and dark purple /mauve on the building.I think I would stay with the more elegant look of the clear lights on the trees.Serve an after dinner gift of a small box of Purdy's chocolates tied with gold foil ribbon.PKS of 2.Have large purple foil gift boxes under the tree with ribbons and bows in gold and ivory.These are empty .Hope you like my inspiration and have fun,My only hope is to make it there to see it.Next Project;The Keg resteraunts-Keeping with the tree theme that I just designed for the new Northern and interior resteraunts have a frosted tree that sits over a round candle holder at each table ,with little air holes in them.Place mats done with Christmas tree motif over them,an overlay of trees in natural colours and the edges scalloped with copper.A Christmas tree in the Lobby area done with minature train sections on it and balls in copper .Have small railroad station houses in ivory/russet and black.Have a wooden star on the top of the tree .You may want to add some russet velvet ribbon or bows as well.Have the same cinnamon almond hand cream in the washrooms.Maybe serve a cinnamon/almond white frosted truffle cake for a desert special with a chocolate cinnamon back.Sets of 20 cards.The etched glass sets of course with the Keg on them ,and gift cards done as Christmas card idea.A drink special of the cinnamon/almond coffee with whip cream and swirls of
